What to expect

The Resilience Project is proud to have partnered with over 1,500 schools and early learning centres around the country, using storytelling, humour and evidence-based principles to inspire and support the wellbeing of educators, students and their families.

The Resilience Project’s Teacher Seminar – a professional development event designed by educators, for educators, empowers teachers with tools to improve their students’ mental health as well as look after their own wellbeing.

Our Teacher Seminar will contribute 3 hours and 30 minutes of NESA Accredited PD in the priority area of Student/child Mental health addressing Standard Descriptor(s) 4.4.2 from the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers towards maintaining Proficient Teacher Accreditation in NSW.

SESSION 1: DISCOVERING RESILIENCE
The Resilience Project founder, Hugh van Cuylenburg, will share the importance of wellbeing and strategies to practise Gratitude, Empathy and Mindfulness (GEM) – the evidence-based principles linked to positive emotions and mental health.

SESSION 2: TEACHING RESILIENCE – THE RESILIENCE PROJECT IN ACTION
This workshop is designed to inspire your teachers with new ideas & resources to support their students’ wellbeing.

SESSION 3: TEACHER WELLBEING WORKSHOP – LOOKING AFTER OURSELVES
This workshop gives educators an opportunity to put themselves first, reflect on their current self-care practices and develop an individual wellbeing plan.

SESSION 4: AUTHENTIC CONNECTION
The Resilience Project partner, Martin Heppell, will share the power of embracing vulnerability, imperfection and passion to building connection – and the positive impact this can have on us both personally and professionally.
