School Partnership Program

What is the School Partnership Program?

A program by teachers for teachers, our School Partnership Program aims to INSPIRE and ENGAGE the whole school community – students, staff, parents & carers – through the evidence-based GEM (Gratitude, Empathy & Mindfulness) principles. We embed GEM through a combination of accessible resources, engaging lesson plans and inspiring digital presentations.

Our School Partnership Program has also been independently evaluated by both The University of Adelaide and The University of Melbourne.

The University of Adelaide study of 160,000 students during the COVID-19 pandemic (2019-2021), found that TRP participants maintained consistent emotional wellbeing and improved life satisfaction, in contrast to those that did not participate in the program. Read the summary report.

The University of Melbourne also found that students at TRP schools showed improved confidence, self-esteem, ability to express emotions and daily gratitude practice. Read the summary report.

Our 2023 School Partnership Program features captivating digital presentations for students, staff and parents and are hosted by either Hugh van Cuylenburg or Martin Heppell.

While both Hugh and Martin’s presentations are centred around gratitude, empathy and mindfulness (GEM) and powerful age-appropriate storytelling, they have different styles and unique stories to inspire resilience across the whole school community. Hugh is TRP’s founder, a former teacher, best-selling author and co-host of chart-topping podcast, The Imperfects. Martin is a TRP Partner, former Assistant Principal, AFL player and has energy like no other. Many schools alternate presenters each year for ongoing program engagement.

Resilient Youth Survey

To help you understand the current mental health and wellbeing of your students, the Resilient Youth Survey measures key indicators such as life satisfaction, hopefulness, anxiety and depression, coping style, and risk and protective behaviours.
