This Mental Health Month we’re focusing on small daily actions that can have a lasting impact on wellbeing.
Starting 1 October, the 21 Day Journal Challenge invites individuals and workplaces to take a few mindful minutes each day to reflect, reset and reconnect with the help of the 21 Day Wellbeing Journal.
Why 21 days? Research suggests that’s how long it takes to start forming new habits and train our brains to scan the world for positives (Emmons and Mccullough, 2003).
The Benefits
Build wellbeing habits.
Taking a few minutes each day to reflect helps lay the foundation for lasting mental health habits.
Train your brain to notice the positives.
Regularly reflecting on what you're grateful for has been said to help your brain to focus on positives, boosting optimism, improving sleep, and reducing stress.
Build connection.
Journalling can deepen self-awareness and emotional insight, and when done as a shared experience. It can also strengthen relationships by creating space for honest reflection and meaningful conversation.
About the Journal
Developed in collaboration with clinical psychologist and regular guest on The Imperfects, Dr Emily Musgrove, our 21 Day Wellbeing Journal is filled with daily wellbeing tips and simple activities to support your mental health.
Each day, you’ll be guided through a fresh exercise centred on Gratitude, Empathy, Mindfulness (GEM) before being invited to list three things that went well for you.

Taking Part With Your Workplace
The 21 Day Journal Challenge is a great opportunity to engage your team during Mental Health Month. It encourages daily reflection, shared wellbeing goals and stronger connections at work.
Each journal offers 21 days of simple, evidence-based activities designed to build healthy habits and rewire the brain to notice more of the positives.
Many workplaces have brought the challenge to life by pairing staff as wellbeing buddies, creating optional check-ins, or wrapping up with a group reflection session at the end of the 21 days.
Once your journals are ordered, you’ll receive an implementation guide and a set of ready-to-use resources to help the challenge run smoothly across your organisation.
Getting started is as easy as...
